New Delhi: After a string of recent failures, the question on everyone's mind is whether it's time to leave Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag out of the Indian one-day (ODI) set-up.
One of the most feared opening pairs in the history of the ODI cricket, the reputation of the two stalwarths of the game has taken a beating with a string of failures.
In Brisbane, Sehwag died by the sword once again, slashing a wide one from Lasith Malinga to be caught for a second-ball duck.
Tendulkar on the other hand was removed by a momentary lapse of concentration after a bright start to his innings.
The Indian batting ace is playing one-day cricket for the first time since being part of the greatest moment in India's recent history, the 2011 World Cup triumph.
Sehwag on the other hand has been quite a force to reckon with since making his ODI debut in 1999, and has been a real handful for the opposition when on song, as was proved during his knock of 219 against the West Indies at Indore, but with an average of 35 some feel that remains an under-performer in coloured clothing.
Considered as a mirror image of each other, their one-day career seems to be at the crossroads at the same time.
